In a previous article, Dr. Michael Egnor asserts that the human mind is immaterial [see Evidences Supporting An Immaterial Mind]. In this new article, Egnor talks about how an immaterial mind prevents scientists from cloning a rational human being.
Implications for AI
If no part of man is immaterial, then scientists should be able to reproduce a human being with the capacity for abstract thought. Our inability to manufacture a rational man out of pure matter means that the human mind is immaterial and cannot be cloned.
